Minimum 15 years working in a machine shop (machine shop, sheet metal shop, plating shop, weld shop).
Advanced knowledge of machine shop equipment operation and CNC technology.
Experience machining various materials such as aluminum, steels, stainless steels, Ni based alloys, titanium, engineering plastics, composites, and exotic materials.
Capable of manual machining to feature call outs of: 0.001 true position, 0.001 flatness over 12 square, 0.001 parallel over 12 length, 0.001 concentricity over 2 set-ups, 0.0001 ' ID & OD, 0.0002 ' thickness and 16 surface finish.
Able to estimate time to completion of task upon receiving task and provide daily status to shop management.
Understanding of material SDS, able to comply with wearing appropriate PPE, and follow heavy lifting criteria.
Able to design and fabricate complex tight tolerance parts and complex support fixtures from simplified documentation or vague engineering direction.
Able to create detailed sketches or drawings from CAD models to aid in fabrication
Able to assess need for custom tools and hardware to fabricate task.
Able to request tooling and hardware needed to complete task.
Ability to perform hardware installation, tooling assembly, fit checks, and verification in a team environment.
Ability to read drawings, engineering change orders (ECOs), and verify completeness/compliance of all documentation IAW Command Media and drawing standards.
Able to interface with shop production software
Knowledge of Industry and Military standard drafting standards and practices, specifically ASME Y14.5-2009 and ASME Y14.100
