We are looking for a highly motivated and hard working candidate that is capable of setting up and operating a CNC Machining Center. Due to the size, cost, speed, sophistication, and/or complexity of the machinery; previous hands on experience is required. Set up and operation includes, adjustment and/or replacement of expendable tooling, guides, jigs, and fixtures. This position will NOT require programming, this will consist of operating and setting up machines only.
CNC stands for **Computer Numerical Control** . This means a computer converts the design produced by Computer Aided Design software (CAD), into numbers. The numbers can be considered to be the coordinates of a graph and they control the movement of the cutter. In this way the computer controls the cutting and shaping of the material.
**Required Skills:** To qualify for consideration, an applicant must possess the following skills. Possession of these skills is a prerequisite for employment.
+ Must have Previous CNC Machining Center experience (Vertical and/or Horizontal).
+ Operator must be capable of operating other equipment as required for the fabrication of various parts.
+ Responsible for producing quality parts in the most productive manner while following safe work practices.
+ Ability to operate the following plant equipment: forklift, hand cutting torch, pendant jib, gantry and overhead cranes (also radio controlled OH).
+ Ability to use the following hand or powered hand tools.
+ Ability to add, subtract and multiply whole numbers, decimals and fractions. Convert decimals to fractions and vice versa.
+ Ability to use the following measuring tools: tape measure, steel rule, square.
+ Must be able to concentrate and maintain productivity in high pressure situations.
+ Must be able to work without close supervision.
+ Machine Technology Certification preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
**Education:** High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
**Shift:** **Various. Overtime will be required as needed.**
